Students are scheduled for clinical and didactic assignments on five days each week, and includes weekends and evening shifts during the two-year training period. As a component of radiologic technology training, students will perform clinical assignments at United Hospital Center and other healthcare facilities affiliated with UHC School of Radiologic Technology. Administration of the program is through United Hospital Center and all didactic classes are taught at United Hospital Center.

Classes begin during the last full week of June each year, but selection of students is completed by April 1. Applications and other required documentation must be postmarked by February 1 of the year in which the student hopes to gain admission. Student selection is a two-part process that begins with a review of student academic transcripts. An impartial scoring system is used to rank applicants on the basis of performance in the following recommended prerequisites - Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy/Physiology, Computer Science, Algebra and other advanced Maths. Courses may be taken through high school or college, with credit awarded based upon the course grade point average. A lesser amount of credit is given for courses taken through business colleges or technical programs.

United Hospital Center’s School of Radiologic Technology charges a tuition of $6,000 for the training period, which is payable in quarterly installments of $750. United Hospital Center’s School of Radiologic Technology does NOT participate in Federal Financial Aid; therefore, students may not receive student loans or federal grants to offset educational costs.

An Associate of Applied Science Degree at Fairmont State Community and Technical College is now available as an admission option for students entering United Hospital Center School of Radiologic Technology. In addition to completing the hospital-based radiologic curriculum, general education courses are required. Tuition and fees are greater for students enrolling through FSC&TC, but this admission option provides access to federal financial aid programs and the WV PROMISE Scholarship to offset school-related expenses.

If you are intersted in this admission option you must complete a Fairmont State Application for Admission and return to the Office of Admissions. This may be done by requesting an application at the Clarksburg or Fairmont campuses, calling 304-367-4000 or online at www.fscwv.edu.
