Myocardial Infarct Imaging (PYP)

Your physician has referred you to the Diagnostic Imaging Department at United Hospital Center for a procedure known as PYP Imaging.

The purpose of PYP Imaging is to define areas of myocardial infarction 3-9 days after the acute event.

After arriving in the Diagnostic Imaging Department an IV will be started in a vein located in your arm (usually your right side)and a small amount of radioactive material will be injected. Once this is completed, the IV will be taken out of your arm and you will be asked to return in four(4) hours. Images of your heart will be taken at that time.

LENGTH: Delayed images after 4 hours -- approximately 45 minutes
