Diabetes

Outpatient Diabetes Education Program

If you or someone you know has diabetes (sugar) it is very important to learn about steps you can take to gain better control. When diabetes is not controlled, it can lead to serious life and health conditions including, but not limited to, heart disease, kidney failure, blindness and amputations. Research indicates that the majority of these symptoms can be prevented or delayed with controlled blood glucose levels. Learning about diabetes is the first step toward preventing these complications. The Outpatient Diabetes Education Program is a three-week, nine hour comprehensive course designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to control diabetes and to limit the power of the disease to disrupt your life.

Instructors: Mary Frances Veltri, RN, MS, CDE; Debbie Glaus, RPh.; and Reverend James Morley
